The Day Love Betrayed Me and Never the Plan 20

The Day Love Betrayed Me and Never the Plan 20

On the seventh day of the apocalypse, chaos took over the world. Zombies roamed the streets, and even snakes, bugs, rats, and ants were mutating one by one.

In just a few days, humans had fallen from the top of the food chain to the bottom, becoming easy targets for everything else.

Chloe stood by the large window, staring out at the school. The immune flower was supposed to mutate the next day.

The hallways weren’t safe anymore. Driven by hunger and thirst, many people drank contaminated water and ended up turning into zombies.

Fortunately, most of them were transformed inside their apartments. Not knowing how to unlock the doors, they couldn’t get out.

The real danger was if someone managed to escape before turning. That was when the hallways became truly hazardous.

Chloe had been lying in bed, scrolling through the resident group chat, when she saw something strange on the security feed. A figure was sneaking around her doorway,

It was the big guy, Bryce, from Unit 1801, carrying a bag of blood. He dropped it right in front of her door.

Chloe tensed up immediately. She threw the door open, finding herself facetoface with Bryce, with only the security door between them.

Caught in the act, Bryce jumped back slightly, but he quickly recovered and flashed her a grin. Hey, Chloe, need something?”

Chloe wasn’t in the mood for talking. She swung open the security door and stepped outside with the axe in hand.

Wwhat are you doing?Bryce stammered, clearly startled. He was pretty sure Chloe was the girl who’d come back two days ago, just as in the group chat videos. But he quickly shrugged it off.

She’s just a weak girl. Maybe the videos made her look tougher. No way she’s actually scary,he thought.

Chloe’s lips curled into a cold, menacing smile. If you’re not guilty, why are you so scared?she asked.

As Chloe advanced, Bryce took a step back quickly and yelled for backup toward another room.

Deacon and two other men rushed out, each holding a weapon, one with a kitchen knife, another with a stick, and the last with a chair. Now that the security door was open, they saw their chance to take Chloe down.

Bryce grinned, showing off his yellow teeth. Girl, it’s not safe for you to be alone. Why don’t you stick with us? We’ll make sure you eat well and live easily.”

Deacon pushed his goldrimmed glasses up his nose, giving off the perfect sleazy vibe, Chloe, did you see those monsters outside? They’re all zombies. This is the apocalypse now. You’d better wake up.”

All four men were eyeing her, their gazes shamelessly drifting over her face and body.

Chloe suddenly broke into a dazzling smile, looking gorgeous. Really? Her voice was light and captivating, like a bird’s song echoing through the mountains.

Bryce tilted his head back, almost savoring the sound with a satisfied look. Damn, you sound sweet. Come on, talk to me more.”

Will you really keep me safe, sir?Chloe pouted, leaning in closer, her tone playful and teasing.

Just as Bryce lunged to grab her, Chloe’s eyes turned cold, radiating a deadly chill. With one powerful swing of her axe, his head was cleanly severed. It landed at Deacon’s feet, his eyes wide in shock, frozen in disbelief.

Oh, my God. She just killed someone!one of the men screamed, turning and running back to his apartment.

It was only day seven of the apocalypse. Zombies were everywhere, but people hadn’t completely lost their humanity yet.

Sure, there were fights and robberies, but no one had actually killed anyone. Most just tried to scare others. Nobody expected a girl to decapitate a guy without a second thought.

Just then, Margaret, a large and muscular woman, stormed out of Unit 1801. She’d come to check if her group had managed to get any supplies, but instead, she found her husband lying dead in a pool of blood.

Who did this? Who killed my husband?Margaret screamed, fury burning in her eyes as she glared at Chloe. The blade of Chloe’s axe was still slick with blood.

Margaret added, You bitch, how dare you kill him? I’m calling the cops right now. They’ll execute you. You’ll rot in prison!”

Chloe had heard threats like this a thousand times before. She just smirked coldly. Go ahead. I’ll be waiting.”

She turned to leave, but Margaret blocked her path, her eyes wide with rage, her voice high and shrill. You killed my husband. You owe us for that. He was our only provider. Give us your supplies now!”

I don’t have any,Chloe said.

Deacon was also taken aback. He hadn’t expected Chloe to be this ruthless. But he wasn’t scared. He thought Bryce had just been caught off guard.

He didn’t believe a weak girl like Chloe could take him down, not if he kept his guard up. Chloe, right? Be a good girl and hand over everything in your apartment. Do that, and maybe I’ll let you live.”

I did stock up on supplies before, but I left before they even showed up. I only got back a couple of days ago. So tell me. What happened to the stuff that was supposed to be at my door?Chloe demanded.

Her eyes were so cold and intense that the men couldn’t help but shudder. Then she continued, her voice trembling with accusation. You already took my supplies, and now you have the nerve to ask for more? Do you even have a conscience?”

The men were thrown off by her sudden shift in tone, almost questioning if that icy stare had been real or just their imagination.

Who’s still human in this messedup apocalypse? You’re way too naive,Deacon said, laughing manically, but an icy voice cut him off.

Chloe appeared in front of him in an instant, moving like a shadow. She flashed a cold, toothy grin. Is that so? Since you’re just animals now, I guess killing a few beasts isn’t a crime, right?”

Before Deacon could react, two shimmering ice blades materialized out of thin air, spinning toward his throat.

Margaret screamed, scrambling back into her apartment in terror.

Chloe stared coldly at the two severed heads on the floor, their wide eyes staring lifelessly at her. In the apocalypse, people robbed to survive, and no one could really blame that. But they made the mistake of messing with her.

As Chloe walked back inside, she heard frantic voices echoing from the hallway.

Honey, what happened to you? Erwin, who killed Deacon? I’m going to report her. She’ll rot in prison for this!another woman wailed.

Chloe tilted her head, watching the woman cower behind the security door, too terrified to step out but shouting at the top of her lungs. The guy who had run off earlier was standing right beside her.

The guy glanced at Chloe, and the woman noticed her too, frantically shaking the security door of Unit 1803.

Then, out of nowhere, a zombie burst from the shadows, emitting guttural screeches as it lunged toward the bodies. Blood was a powerful lure, and they couldn’t resist the temptation.
