The big yellow mutt started talking like a person. “Huh? Who’s this? I’ve never seen her before.”
Chloe replied offhandedly, “She’s my sister.”
“When did she show up?” Gavin pressed.

“That can’t be right. I was on guard outside the tent all day yesterday, and I’m super alert. There’s no way anyone could’ve gotten in without me noticing,’ Gavin thought.
He sniffed the air, then totally freaked out and went nuts barking.
He kept barking anxiously and couldn’t stop for a second.
Before he could say anything, Chloe leaned in and whispered something in his ear. He went white as a sheet.
He stared at the pretty girl in the dress, his eyes full of fear.
“That stench makes sense now. She’s actually a Zombie King,’ Gavin thought.
He thought, ‘Did I just hit the jackpot or what? I thought she was just some girl who looked like Chloe, and I was ready to play the hero, but turns out she’s a boss–level character.
Man, my luck’s finally turning around.’
With each upgrade of the spiritual space, the Phantom Zombie would be transformed, growing even more powerful than before.
The system’s robotic voice rang out in Chloe’s mind, “Congratulations, Host. The Phantom Zombie’s southern core has been fully upgraded. Her loyalty to you is now at 100%.”
Chloe quickly asked in her mind, “So, does that mean she’ll never betray me?”Â
‘Yes.
‘So, how strong is she now?”
‘She’s at the mid-stage of Tier 6.”
Chloe gasped. ‘Whoa, she’s actually stronger than me?Â
At this level, she’s probably one of the strongest in the world.

The Phantom Zombie was beautiful, with a soft, graceful charm that reminded people of a gentle southern girl.
As soon as she appeared, she immediately drew everyone’s attention.
Almost everyone here was a man, and if there were any women, they were either hanging onto some big shot or tough and burly, not much to look at.
So when this pure and delicate girl suddenly showed up-and she was gorgeous, too–she instantly caught the eye of every powerhouse around.

Chloe couldn’t help but facepalm, thinking, ‘How did I forget about this when the Phantom Zombie asked to come out of the spiritual space just now?‘
This time, after being completely purified by the spiritual space, her body looked almost human–except for the fact that she had no heartbeat, and now even her eyes had jet-black pupils.
If people didn’t pay close attention, they would never realize her eyes were totally empty.
Her black pupils rotated all the way around in her sockets as she glanced at the crowd staring at her like prey, and she licked her lips in response.
‘Man, I’m starving.
‘Too bad my master won’t let me snack on those humans,‘ she thought.
Chloe pulled out a carton of milk, punctured the seal with a straw, and offered it to her. “Drink up.”
Of course, it wasn’t really milk inside. It was beast blood she’d gathered before.
The Phantom Zombie was finally able to show some emotion on her face, and at the scent of blood, her face brightened with childlike joy.
“Is she an angel who fell from the sky? She’s so cute,” a balding man said.
As he spoke, he flashed his yellow teeth, and his breath was so foul that everyone nearby instinctively covered their mouths.
Totally oblivious to his own nastiness, he shot a look of disgust at the filthy woman next to him.
“Ugh, if I could find any other woman to mess around with, I’d dump you in a heartbeat,” he sneered.
The woman trembled and dropped her head even lower, scared out of her wits.
She used to be a top-tier office worker, the go-to beauty in the company. But after the apocalypse hit, there was no water to wash up, no makeup or skincare, and even getting food and water was a daily battle.
Forgetting to look like her old self, just staying alive was tough enough.
The powered humans nearby heard what he said and started whining about their bad luck.
“Man, at least you’ve still got a woman to fool around with. Look around, almost all of us are guys now,” one of them griped,
All they did was complain about not having any women, but never stopped to think about how many they’d slaughtered themselves.Â
After the apocalypse hit, women were already at a disadvantage, not as strong or able to work as men.
Most ended up dead in the brutal world after everything went to hell, some were tortured, and some even wound up as someone’s dinner.
At this rate, it’s a wonder there are any women left at all.
Chloe tuned out the chatter around her, packed up the tent into her spiritual space, and sent Phantom Zombie off to track down the Blaze Squad.
After her upgrade, her spirit–powered abilities grew even stronger and more solid.

The weaker powered humans didn’t feel a thing, but those at Tier 5 got the creepy sensation of being watched, sending chills down their backs.
The few Tier 6 powered humans suddenly looked up, scanning their surroundings.
“Crap, a powerful spirit-powered human just showed up. Everyone, stay alert-don’t get attacked,” one of the Tier 6 powered humans warned.
The teams led by Tier 6 powered humans were all fully armed, every member on high alert, eyes darting everywhere.
Seeing the big shots so tense, the other powered humans could tell something was about to go down. They quickly armed themselves, and the whole place felt heavy and tense.
But that feeling like a mountain pressing down on them disappeared just as quickly, leaving the Tier 6 powered humans with beads of sweat on their foreheads.
Noah finally showed up, leading a massive group of over a hundred people from Ebony Base.
He stood at the very front of the crowd, with a lazy little beast lounging on his shoulder-the mutant cheetah that looked just like a pet cat.
To his left was Hector, who was usually so laid-back, but today he looked unusually serious.
And on his right stood a man who was a bit shorter than Noah. His features were half similar to Noah’s, but the rest was tinged with gloom and a hint of bloodlust.
Suddenly, he sensed a heavy pressure in the air and his brows furrowed.
“Noah, this place is crawling with hidden experts. There’s actually a top-tier spirit-powered human here,” he remarked.
Noah gave a cold look to the man who looked a lot like him.
“Harvey, mind your own business,” Noah said coldly.
Harvey’s expression grew even more sullen at Noah’s words. He clenched his fists behind his back, nails digging so deep into his palms that a faint scent of blood started to spread from the wounds.
Harvey thought bitterly, ‘Why? Why does he get everything?
‘We’re both Fletcher blood, so why are you the one everyone worships as the next head?
‘No matter how hard I try, I’m nothing but a gutter rat. I don’t even deserve the Fletcher name.
He couldn’t stand it. He hated it with every fiber of his being.
‘How is this even possible? I had someone poison him, so how did he not only survive, but get even more powerful in no
time?
‘If only Noah were dead, then I’d be the only heir of the Fletcher family, Harvey thought bitterly.
Harvey’s gloomy vibe was getting thicker and thicker, when suddenly, someone slapped him hard on the back, making him jump out of his skin.
He spun around and came face to face with a middle-aged man whose expression was ice-cold.

He barely got the words out before Kasen’s brows drew together, and Harvey scrambled to fix his mistake.
“No, I mean, I’ll do my best to support the head,” he stammered.
Kasen nodded approvingly, stroking his goatee and giving a few satisfied nods.
