Now that they’d joined Blaze Haven and were officially on Chloe’s team, their fear shifted into awe. 

Plus, the base chief had hooked them up with so much good food that she was actually pretty cool.

The man with narrow eyes, always the sharp one, piped up, “It must be some big city we just don’t know about. Is it in the north?” 

Before the apocalypse, the South had the biggest population, but after the outbreak, it turned into a zombie hotspot. So most of the major bases ended up in northern cities. 

The north was sparsely populated and had lots of fortifications, making it a safer haven for survivors. 

Steel Base was a mid–sized base up north, with over a million people. But Blaze Haven? They’d never even heard of it. 

‘Could it be a small base? But with a boss this powerful, there’s no way it’s just some tiny place,‘ the man with narrow eyes wondered. 

Rebecca, standing nearby, looked confused. “I know a place called Grovenwich. It’s a scenic spot in the southwest, right at the base of the mountains. I went there once for a trip; it wasn’t fully developed yet.” 

The man with narrow eyes gaped at her. “Are you kidding? Who would build a base at the foot of the mountains? Don’t you know that’s the most dangerous spot in the apocalypse?” 

There aren’t many zombies in the mountains, but the mutant beasts are way scarier. Even the strongest powered humans won’t go near that place. 

Nowadays, survivor bases are usually set up in places with barely any people. 

Especially up north. 

All the big bases are over there. 

The southwest? Isn’t that just a bunch of mountain villages? 

Sure, those villages are pretty empty, but there are still plenty of cities nearby. And anywhere backed by mountains and rivers is just asking for giant mutant beast attacks.
