The entire family was there for Jocelyn, but Houston, her husband, was nowhere to be seen. Jocelyn was in the hospital where I died

Jocelyn was in the ward with mum and dad. Rowan was in the corridor by the nursesstation

He stared blankly ahead, lost in thought

Rowan’s striking looks and the aura of decisiveness he exuded from years in the business world drew frequent glances from the nurses at the station

One nurse looked sad instead of happy at the handsome man

The colleague asked her what was wrong

She thought about the phone call that was cut off and said sadly, A patient with terminal cancer died. It was hard to contact the family, and they didn’t believe it. I’ve never met anyone like that. Not only did he refuse to believe me, but he also cursed the patient and blocked my number! I was so angry. And to think, I initially found his voice quite pleasant.‘

Her colleague listened with an air of indifference. Working in a hospital meant encountering all sorts of patients and their families. It’s just a pity about the patient. She was a beautiful young woman when she arrived, but in less than six months, she was withered and gone. Life is so unpredictable, a cruel twist of fate.”

I listened to their pity for me, I was touched inside. I still owe the hospital money, so I gave them my family’s phone number. They have money, and I’m part of the inheritance

Seeing her dejected look, her colleague suggested, Why don’t you try calling from my phone? He hasn’t blocked me. It’ll just show up as an unknown number. Whether he answers or not is up to him. The nurse was excited and agreed with her colleague

Rowan’s phone rang. The nurse looked back at him, attracted by the ringtone

Rowan didn’t notice who was calling. He took out his mobile phone and saw it was someone he didn’t know. He wanted to hang up, but he picked up the call by mistake

The nurse said, This is City General Hospital.‘

The nurse stopped. The man in front of her was the family member who had abandoned his family. She looked at him and still couldn’t connect with the voice that cursed the patient. Rowan had already stood in front of the nurse’s desk. He just stood there, his body seeming to

have taken root

Hello, are youVivian’s family? The nurse spoke first

Rowan nodded, his throat suddenly tightening, rendering him speechless, as if something was stuck there

Vivian died of lung cancer four days ago at 1 p.m. The nurse told him I had died of lung cancer he froze

Rowan didn’t know what he was doing. He only heard that I died at one o’clock in the afternoon four days ago, which was the time for Jocelyn’s wedding

His eyes were red, his hands were sweating and trembling

The nurse looked at him and saw he was sad

The man’s spine was bent as if the news was too much for him to bear

Rowan calmed down. He asked, Where is she now?”

The nurse paused, then said, The morgue. The family can pay for the funeral if they want.‘

Take me to her! Rowan only said one sentence

Before seeing my body, Rowan retained a little hope. What if it was someone with the exact

same name as Vivian? What if it wasn’t her

She wouldn’t die just like that

But all this was shattered after seeing my corpse

Rowan’s hands were shaking as he looked at the body covered in a white cloth. He had always, been cold and decisive, but now he was unsure

When he lifted the white cloth, my pale and thin cheeks were revealed. Rowan was devastated

He leaned in front of my morgue cabinet and started crying. He felt a pain he had never felt

before

Rowan realised the link between himself and the corpses, a link from blood relations

The nurse who brought him here didn’t expect this. She didn’t know how to comfort him

///////

I looked at the man on the ground. He was my brother. At this time, I wanted revenge. Before, I wanted pleasure. Even now, I feel a little relief

I want to ask him, Is this what you want? Why are you sad?‘
