“Here is the room you’ll be staying in, I hope it’s to your liking.” The beta who was tasked with showing me to my new room announced once we stopped in front of a door. I pushed the door open and stepped in, the room looked very spacious and comfortable, the bed was very big, and it looked nice for the fact that I was basically trapped against my own will here.
“Yes, it is. Thank you so much.” I breathed out and turned to face the beta. He gave me a warm smile before nodding.
“If you need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out and I’ll help out in any way I can or pass on your messsge to Tjs king. And I’m Ethan, so just ask for me whenever you need me.”
I was genuinely taken aback by how nice he was sounding because I expected him to also treat me as harshly as the king has been treating me.
I guess I was wrong.
“I need a phone. Is there any way I can get that?” I asked, deciding to try my luck out.
“I’ll have to ask the king first, my lady. If he approves, I’ll send a phone over for you. Is there anything else you might need?”
“Um, I think I’ll need clothes since it seems like I’ll be stuck here for the time being.” I added and he nodded, hands clasped behind him.
“I’ll pass
the message on to the king. Have a lovely day.”
He was gone before I could respond and I stepped into the room fully and pushed the door close, then I let out a long sigh as my eyes took in the whole interior slowly this time. This place feels impersonal, and if I’m gonna be staying here on moving forward, I’ll have to decorate it and give it a softer touch. I didn’t have any means to do that just yet, since I had no money presently.
I combed my fingers through my hair as I walked up to the bed and sank into it, then I flopped over the blanket. The conversation I had with the king back in his office was making me start to feel angry all over again. How dare he subject me to be nothing but a breeder? A mere breeder?!
It was so humiliating… but I guess I had no ground to stand on in my current situation. This is what I guess for blindly trusting my husband till he fully betrayed me.
I wondered how my parents were reacting after seeing all the lies spread out on the internet about me. Did they also believe those lies? I wouldn’t put it past them because after how they treated me when I was still living with them, I wouldn’t put it past them.
The king hasn’t left me with any option, and now I literally have to start planning towards being a mother.
But I already told him the truth. I really had been unable to take in with Elijah, and I guess he’ll be able to tell that I wasn’t lying after I get inseminated. At least I wouldn’t have to have sex with him.

And who even was that woman that came in and went over to him to get all over him and kiss him? Irritation flooded my mind, not because I was jealous, but because I was annoyed that the king thought I’d be jealous and even made sure to warn me to not dare get jealous or delude myself into thinking he’d ever bed me.
I didn’t want him to bed me either!
The king was so rude, and so proud. I hated him at this point, even though he smelt nice and looked so freaking handsome, even though his voice always made my heart skip a couple of beats, even though his eyes. made me weak kneed. Those were stupid reactions that were prompted after that night in the mate hunt. If we hadn’t kissed that night, I definitely won’t be feeling any type of way around him.
I was still feeling irritated when I drifted off to sleep.
When I woke up, it was to a sharpness at the back of my head and against my scalp that had me yelping as I jolted awake. I didn’t realize what was happening at first, and it didn’t register yet till I blinked a few times and saw her, the same woman from the king’s office a few hours ago, crouched by my bed, and bits of my hair in her grip. She had just yanked my hair out of my scalp, which had pulled me out of my sleep.
Anger slowly consumed me as I fully set up and looked her up and down, feeling beyond irritated at the mere sight of her, especially after memories from the king’s office, of her kissing him and being comfortable in his laps when I was present, suddenly flooded my mind.
“What are you doing here? Uninvited on top of that, and why did you pull my hair out? Are you crazy?” I demanded before I could stop myself. This woman who looked so damn pretty, rolled her eyes with a scoff as she rose to her feet and walked over to the left side of the room where she sank into a chair there.
“I came over because I wanted to have an important talk with you.” She announced, grinning like she owned the place. I bristled as I rolled out of the bed and stalked towards her, then I grabbed her shirt and roughly pulled her out of the couch.
“Well, since you came in here uninvited, I don’t think I’m interested in having any conversation with you. You can leave now.”
She stared me down for a few moments before scoffing, then she shoved my grip off her shirt, then she stepped closer to me before speaking.
“Do you know who I am?” She asked and I snickered.
“I genuinely don’t care. Now, get out,”
“Are you jealous, perhaps? Over what you witnessed in the king’s office? Because, my dear… that’s only a tip of what usually goes down between the king and I on a daily basis.”
I rolled my eyes as I looked her over again. She was skinnier than I was. Is this the king’s type? Skinny girls?

And I already figured out that her and the king were fucking, I didn’t need her telling right now.

“Well, I didn’t ask. And I couldn’t care less to be honest. You can keep having fun with the king if you want. Now, leave my room.”
She bristled this time. “Stop sounding so proud, I have way more than this measly room here in this palace.”
“Well, at least this room belongs to me so I can order you to get out from it if I don’t want you in here,”
I could tell that my responses were infuriating her and I didn’t care. None of this would have happened if she didn’t come in here uninvited then yank my hair out like a fucking child.
“Well, I guess I’ll leave. But for your information, the king sent me over here, because he wanted me to shop for some clothes for you. But since you’ve treated me very rudely, I’ll leave without doing that, and it would be your loss.” After she finished, I remained silent and watched as she headed for the door before stopping and whirling around.
“You’re really not gonna apologize? You don’t want clothes??” She demanded but I felt more irritated that she’d think she could get me to worship at her feet because of clothes.
I’d rather wear rags Instead!.
The woman ended up scoffing before leaving and slamming the door hard when I still didn’t bother to stop her.
After she left, I sank into my bed and massaged my aching scalp.
Good riddance.
Who is she anyway?
I don’t even know her position here in this palace but I can just already tell that she’s gonna be so much trouble for me.
At evening time, I was bored out of my mind so I left the room and was also starving. I was feeling regretful for not asking the beta how I was supposed to get food when I got hungry. I wasn’t sure if I’d be allowed into the kitchen should I try to find my way there.
The palace was ridiculously big, way bigger than I could comprehend and I wonder how people don’t get lost
in here.
I used to think that my parents‘ castle was big, but I was seeing another definition of the word palace in a new light.
