THIRD POV
Roman knew he should have turned back the moment he noticed the cluster of wolves ahead,

A few of them leaned against the low fence bordering the western park grounds, others scattered loosely across the clearing.
It wasn’t unusual–wolves gathered like this all the time–but the moment Roman stepped into view, something shifted.
Heads turned.
Voices dipped.
Then came the snickers.
Low at first.
Then louder.
Roman exhaled slowly, already knowing how this would go.
Mason pushed himself off the fence, that familiar smirk settling into place like he’d been waiting for this exact moment. His friend–Luca–stood nearby, arms crossed, watching with quiet amusement.
“Well, look who decided to grace our presence today,” Mason said.
A few of the others chuckled.
Roman didn’t stop walking.
“Your Highness,” Mason added mockingly, giving a shallow, exaggerated nod. “What are you doing outside your castle?”
That earned a round of laughter.
“Careful,” Luca chimed in, pushing off the fence as well. “You know he’s important.”
“Right,” Mason said, circling slightly. “Alpha’s little pet.”
The words landed, and this time the laughter was louder.
Roman’s jaw tightened, but he kept moving.
“Tell me,” Mason went on, voice laced with mock curiosity, “how does it feel?”
Roman didn’t respond.
Mason stepped closer.
“Getting all that special treatment,” he continued. “When you have nothing to offer.”

Roman kept his gaze forward.
“Must be nice,” Luca added. “Because without that? You’re nothing.”
A few murmurs of agreement followed.
Roman’s steps slowed–but he didn’t stop.
“Hey,” Mason called, sharper now. “I’m talking to you.”
Roman didn’t turn.
Mason’s smirk widened.
“Or what?” he added. “You going to try to ignore me again like last time?”
That drew a few knowing looks from the others.
“Speaking of last time,” Luca said, glancing at Mason, “you think he’s up for another round today?”
More laughter.
Roman’s hands curled slightly at his sides.
“Yeah,” Mason said thoughtfully, eyes dragging over him. “We never did finish that, did we?”
The tone shifted–subtle, but there.
Less joking.
More intent.
Roman finally stopped walking.
Behind him, someone snorted.
“Careful, Mason,” Luca added mockingly. “You don’t want to go too far.”
Mason glanced at him, amused. “And why’s that?”
Luca smirked.
“He might go running back to the Alpha,” he said. “You know… report you.”
That sent another ripple of laughter through the group.
Roman exhaled slowly.
Then he turned.
His expression was tight now, frustration finally breaking through.
“What’s your problem?” he asked, his voice calm but edged with something sharper underneath.
Mason’s smirk widened.

“Oh! He can talk,” Mason said. “You want to know my problem?” he added.

“Yes,” Roman said. “Because if you’ve got an issue with me being here, then maybe you should take it up
with Alpha Alexander.”
A few murmurs passed through the small crowd.
Mason didn’t respond immediately.
Roman held his gaze for a second longer.
Then he let out a short breath–something close to a smirk tugging at his lips.
“Yeah,” he said quietly. “That’s what I thought… coward.”
That did it.
The shift in Mason was instant.
The amusement dropped.
Replaced by something sharper.
More aggressive.
“Say that again,” Mason said.
Roman didn’t.
He stepped to the side, moving to walk past him.
For a second, it looked like Mason might let him.
Then-
A hand shoved into Roman’s shoulder from behind.
Hard.
Roman staggered forward a step, barely catching himself before he fell.
The laughter came back, louder now.
“Don’t turn your back on me,” Mason snapped.
Roman turned slightly, frustration finally breaking through.
“I’m not doing this with you again,” he said.
“Too late,” Mason shot back.
Roman exhaled sharply, shaking his head as he tried to move again-
And then something moved behind him. Mason had picked up a weapon to strike him.
Fast.
< Chapter 351
There was no warning.
No time to turn.
Just the rush of air-
And instinct.
Roman’s body reacted before his mind caught up.
His arm came up sharply-
Just as the heavy object swung toward him.
The impact never landed clean.

It struck against his forearm instead, the force still enough to jar through him–but not enough to take him
down.
The sound that left Roman wasn’t human.
It tore out of his chest, low and violent, vibrating through the yard in a way that made everything else go
still.
The laughter died instantly.
Then everything blurred at first.
The world narrowed.
Roman’s pulse roared in his ears.
Heat surged through his veins, fast and overwhelming.
Then his vision sharpened unnaturally–edges too clear, movements too slow and too fast at the same
time.
His fingers curled-
And claws broke through.
Gasps erupted around him.
“Roman-” someone started.
His head snapped up.
His eyes burned gold.
Bright.
Mason took a step back, whatever he’d been about to say dying in his throat.
Roman didn’t register it.

Didn’t process anything beyond the surge of rage flooding through him.
His control–what little he had–was gone.
Completely.
He moved.
Fast.
One second he was standing-
The next, he was on Mason.
He slammed into him with brutal force, driving him straight to the ground.
The impact knocked the breath out of Mason instantly.
Roman’s hand fisted into his shirt, claws digging in as he pinned him down, a snarl ripping from his throat.
Panic exploded around them.
People scrambled back.
Shouts broke out–loud, chaotic.
Mason struggled beneath him, trying to push him off… to gather himself enough to shift, but Roman didn’t
move.
Didn’t loosen his grip.
His other hand lifted-
Claws flexing, ready to strike-
“Roman!”
No response.
Nothing reached him.
His focus snapped to Mason’s friend, Luca–who had taken a step too close.
Roman lunged again without thinking.
Luca barely had time to react before Roman struck, sending him stumbling back hard.
Fear had fully set in now.
No one was laughing anymore.
No one found this amusing.
This wasn’t bullying anymore.
This was something else entirely.
Chapter 141
Something dangerous.
Something out of control.
Roman turned back, chest heaving, another low growl vibrating from him as his claws flexed again-
He was taking on anyone who dared move an inch.
“Get Alpha Alexander!” someone yelled.
