Chapter 160

Draco disappeared from Alexander’s view as more soldiers poured into the clearing, cutting him off. Snarls and the clash of teeth and claws filled the air.

Patrick, realizing the chaos was growing uncontrollable, veered away. He had seen that look in Alexander’s wolf’s eyes beforethe kind that meant there was no reasoning left in him, no restraint, only bloodlust. If he stayed too close, he’d get himself killed; besides, he had a

business to handlethe real reason he was here.

So he broke off from the fight, circling around the pack house in search of Draco. If he could find the Alpha before Alexander did, maybe he could prevent this night from turning into a fullblown m******e.

The corridors were quiet as Patrick moved, listening for any sign of movement. Then he heard itthe low growl of a wolf, close, too close. He turned just in time to see a massive shape lunging toward him.

Patrick ducked, barely avoiding the impact as claws scraped across the wall behind him. He rolled forward, shifted midmotion, and came up in his wolf form, meeting Draco headon.

Draco attacked again, teeth bared and eyes blazing with fury. Patrick blocked, snapping back in warning, but Draco didn’t relent. They clashed violentlytwo powerful Alphas locked in a storm of snarls and blood.

When Draco finally leapt back, panting, his form shimmered, bones cracking as he shifted into his human self. His expression twisted into something between rage and disbelief.

Patrick?he spat. You?”

Patrick shifted back as well, breathing heavily, eyes narrowed. Yeah, me,he said.

Draco’s jaw tightened. You’ve picked the wrong side, old friend. You think you can stand against me?”

Patrick looked unimpressed. You really don’t get it, do you?”

Draco glared at him, his body tense, ready to pounce again. You came here with them- you’re part of this ambush.”

Patrick raised a brow. If I wanted to kill you, Draco, you’d already be bleeding out right now.”

Deep down, Draco knew that was true, but it still didn’t explain what he was doing here with Jason.

His growl deepened, low and guttural. Don’t play games with me, Patrick. You think I won’t rip your throat out?”

Try,Patrick shot back flatly. But before you do, you might want to hear what I have to say.”

For a moment, Draco hesitated. The air between them vibrated with tension. The sounds of chaos still echoed faintly from outsidethe roars of wolves, the cries of men, the unmistakable sound of death spreading through the Moon Claw pack house.

Patrick’s tone shifted, calm and measured. I didn’t come here to fight you, Draco. I came because you don’t even realize the mistake you made, and someone needed to have your back. You provoked the wrong Alpha.”

Draco scoffed, stepping closer, his eyes cold. “You mean Jason?”

Patrick let out a dry laugh. Jason? He shook his head slowly. You think that was Jason’s mate you took?”

Draco frowned, thrown off for a moment. What are you talking about?”

Patrick took a slow step forward. That girl your men dragged inshe’s not Sage. She’s her twin sister; you should have done your homework.”

Draco blinked, his expression hardening with confusion. “Twin?”

Patrick nodded once. “Her name is Faye. She’s the Luna of Blood Crescent.”

The realization hit Draco like a punch to the gut. You’re lying.”

Am I?Patrick replied. You didn’t even bother to confirm who you were taking. You thought

it was the Luna of Silver Hollow, but you grabbed Faye instead. And the Alpha of Blood Crescent just stormed your territory.”

Draco stared at him, his breathing heavy. The weight of the words began to sink in. Alexander Blackwell,he muttered, as if testing the name aloud.

Patrick smirked faintly. That’s the one.”

Draco cursed under his breath. Damn it.His eyes darted toward the corridor leading to the courtyard, where faint light flickered through the windows. He could still hear the battle raging. So that’s who’s coming after me.”

Patrick folded his arms. You provoked him, Draco. You took his mate. You think he’s going to stop at a warning? This is going to be messy.”

Draco laughed. So what? He’s just one wolf, he’s outnumbered already.”

Maybe, but he might have a trick up his sleeveno one is dumb enough to storm a pack house without a plan,Patrick said.

Draco’s confusion lasted only a moment before his pride surged to the surface again. He straightened, his expression twisting into a dark grin. This is perfect.”

Patrick’s eyes narrowed. Perfect?”

Draco turned toward the distant sound of fighting, the smirk never leaving his face. You don’t understand. I wanted a warnow I’ve got a better one. And when I’m done, every pack on this continent will know my name.”

Patrick’s tone sharpened. You’re delusional.”

Draco ignored him, his voice growing more confident with each word. He thinks he can scare me by coming here? I’ll kill Alexander Blackwell. But not before I break him. I’ll capture him, put him in chains, and make a spectacle of him. Let every Alpha watch as I crush the socalled legend under my boots.”

You think it’s that simple, don’t you?Patrick scoffed. You have no idea what’s coming for you.”

Draco turned sharply, eyes flashing. I’ve fought worse.”

Patrick shook his head slowly, a dark amusement flickering across his face. No, you haven’t. Let’s hope he doesn’t get close enough.”

The silence stretched for a heartbeat, filled only by the distant echoes of growls outside. Then Patrick took a step closer, his voice dropping lower.

Draco sneered. And you expect me to believe you’re warning me out of the goodness of your heart? You could have warned me earlier.”

Patrick’s lips curved into a smirk. “There was no time,he said simply. But I’m on your side.”

Then he smiled wider, almost lazily, as if enjoying the irony of his own words.

Believe it or not, you don’t hate Alexander more than I do.”
