Chapter 25
I couldn’t contain my excitement at surprising my cousins. They will squeal in delight which would hurt like hell, but it will be worth it to see them be as happy as I am to being out. “Hey, calm down I can feel you squirming you’re going to tire yourself out before we even get to the door.” Hunter said shaking his head chuckling at me. “I can’t help it.” I said as we stepped to the door, and I knocked and rang the doorbell. The top of their door was a pain glass window so whoever answered would see it was me. “I’LL GET IT!” I heard an unfamiliar voice. Hunter apparently knew who it was. “Shadow must be here for Shawna.” Wow I realized I never really heard him say anything more than grunt or growl.
Surprisingly he sounded nothing like I would think a killer should sound. Seeing me he stopped dead in his
tracks shocked.
“Open the Damn door Shadow, its hot as hell out here.” Hunter said through the door. Shadow opened the door and stepped aside. To allow me and hunter through. “Hey Shadow guess who got sprung today? I’m trying to surprise my cousins, where are they? ” I asked. “Dining room.” Is all he said. Apparently, Hunter knew exactly where that was because he didn’t wait for directions Shadow closed the door following close behind, I could hear talking but couldn’t tell who it was, but I knew it wasn’t my cousins. Walking up to the dining room my mood immediately changed because the first person I see was none other than the alpha himself. I started calling him that because that was all Hunter would call him, so I just went with it. It allowed me to not feel any of those damn stupid emotions getting to me. As soon as we stepped into the room, he immediately snapped his head in my direction noticing his shocked expression and then something that looked like anger for God knows what. Because I haven’t seen or spoken to him since that night we kissed.
Everyone else noticing his shock turn their heads to me and as I predicted they squealed and damn near knocked over their chairs coming to love up on me… Lateri actually did knock her chair over running towards us Hunter had to hold them off, saying he didn’t want to drop me, and I was still on strict bedrest and two hours of sitting time. So Lateri ushered us back into the living room and said I would sit there until one of her maids got my room ready on the first floor which was Makahi’s old room.
“Oh, chocolate drop I’m so glad you’re out of that old cold hospital. You don’t know how worried you had me and the girls but now that you’re all here with me under one roof I’m the happiest Luna. Oh gosh Lahni Are you hungry? of course you are that nasty hospital food is depressing. Holly, can you prepare her a plate and bring it in here along with a tray please?” Lateri asked grabbing pillows stuffing them under my feet and head my cousins were getting blankets and more pillows they were so excited and ready to spoil me. I didn’t need all those things, but I let them because they seemed really happy to be able to help take care of me. Clearing his throat everyone stopped to look at him. “Mother you’re overwhelming her; you’re going to tire her out and she just got home. Let’s give her some breathing room and wait for her food to come.” Turning to Hunter clearly angry about something.
“Hunter you can leave now. They need an extra guard on the North border.” The alpha said dismissingly which pissed me off. Looking at him in disgust. Hunter looking confused. “But Alpha I have to redress Kyajah’s arm in an hour.” Hunter Said respectfully bowing his neck. “What did you just say.” The alpha asked coming to stand above Hunter. Everyone noticed the tension in the room except my cousin who quickly caught the use of my middle name. Then turned to me and then him….“ooohhhhh how does Mr.

Hunter know your middle name.” They said eyeing me. I rolled my eyes trying not to make it a big deal. “Oh, shut up. He won a game of poker where he could ask me 1 personal question.” I looked away
shrugging.
They looked between the both of us trying to see if there was anything else going on. Which it wasn’t. Summer came out of nowhere wrapping her arm around him. ” I was just noticing that Summer was here as well, clearly pissed by me stealing the attention she craves. “Sweetie maybe we should go. Seems like everyone is excited to have. her home. maybe we should give them some time to spend with her.” She said rubbing his chest clearly laying it on real thick for my benefit of course. Still staring at Hunter “I will make sure she’s put to bed and one of the girls will redress her arm now go.” He all but growl. Hunter gasped looked at me to say sorry with his eyes and quickly left. Turning back towards me with the same anger never taking his eyes off me. “We came here for dinner to finalize when you start your Luna training once we do that then we’ll leave.” He said turning and going back into the dining room without waiting for a response. Mina was the first to break the awkward silence.
“What the hell is wrong with him.” She asked no one in particular. “I wish I knew he has been weird lately and is avoiding me and his father. It may be stress of the rogue attacks and this God forsaken mating ceremony.” Lateri said with the look of someone who just ate a lemon and lime on a hot day. My cousins had the same look but theirs were more of the I wish I could drag her ass out back and dust her ass off. Holly brought me a bowl of loaded chicken soup and rolls. Mina and Shawna grabbed their plates and came to sit with me with Shadow not far away from Shawna. I definitely have to get caught up on that bit of news because I have noticed that he tends to find his way next to Shawna. Lateri wanted to join us so bad the look of sadness and anger that she had to sit with Summer and her son wasn’t missed by anyone and she didn’t seem to care. I also notice that the alpha sat in the chair that gave him a bird’s eye view of me. I wasn’t going to let his evil looks stop me from enjoying my homecoming with my family. So, I blocked his ass like he didn’t exist. I don’t know what he thought was going to happen, but he made his choice, and it wasn’t me so now I’m gone make him live with that decision.
