Makahi’s POV: continued
“Montego. Do the briefing without me I have something to take care of. Link me if you need me.” I said cutting the link when he replied. Heading to the kitchen to grab a picnic basket I grabbed turkey slices, hoagie rolls, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, and mustard. Washed some Fresh strawberries, cherries, pineapples, grapes, and watermelon. I sliced them and tossed them in a bowl. I grabbed some crackers and cheese and a few slices of chocolate cake from the diner. Once I finished, I grabbed a couple bottles of water and lemonade. On the way out the door I mind linked my dad. “Do you don’t have to stay and watch Ji’lahni I’ll cover for Hunter he needed to be at the briefing.” “I’m already on my way to meet with some of the mated men to play a round of golf.” He said with a knowing laugh. Cutting the link. Shaking my head, I headed out on a mission.
Ji’lahni POV:
“Hey sweetheart I have an important meeting I need to get to. Is there anything I can get you before I go.” Lateri’s mate Antoni asked. “No, I don’t need anything now. If you’re going to be gone a while you can bring me a bottled water to take my medicine and my stuff out of the bathroom that I need to redress my wound, I’ll do it myself.” I responded already trying to see how I was going to get it done. I wasn’t going to let on that I couldn’t do it myself. “No, No! Someone will be here in a few to assist you while we’re out. RiRi would kill me if I left you alone. He said a with a shudder that made me smile. “OK then thanks and take your time I don’t want to be a bother I’ll take my pills when the person comes and just take a nap.” “Oh, hush that nonsense you’re No bother at all. Now get some rest and no getting up on your own. Do I make myself clear young lady?” He said in a serious almost dad like tone which had me nodding in shame about what happened earlier, with me trying to get up on my own.
I was just tired of depending on people and having them rearrange their daily lives for me and the fact that me and my cousin’s company will lose this contract if I can’t even get out of bed on top of the fact that the Alpha makes me feel things I shouldn’t, and his girlfriend hates my guts. I need to get it together he has told me tome and time again that I’m not what he wants and that his feelings are the same as my sudden irrational feelings for him. Maybe he’s right maybe it was just the situation that him me wanting him and having feelings for him its crazy that I have never just felt this way about someone as soon as our eyes met there was this rush that took my breath away. That’s the only way I can explain. Shaking my head free of those thoughts of Kahi because they were not serving a purpose anymore, Hearing the front door open and close I sat up in my bed to speak and introduce myself to the person. I knew it wouldn’t be Hunter or shadow because they were both busy. Hearing a knock before opening the door I frown because they didn’t even wait for permission before turning the knot to come in. “Why are you here?” I asked clearly confused I’m sure the boss is supposed to be even busier than his employees.
