Chapter 200
The sun rose over the Eternal Packhouse with a soft glow. It was a big day. It wasn’t my day, but in many ways, it felt like it was. Today was the day my sister, Alice, would finally join her soul with
Liam.
My relationship with Alice has changed in So Many Ways and I’m here for it because I finally have at sister who I can share everything with and life has never felt this good.
I stood in Alice’s bedroom, surrounded by ribbons of lace and the smell of fresh jasmine. Alice was sitting in front of the mirror. Her hands were shaking so much she couldn’t even hold her hairbrush.
“I can’t do it, Faith,” she whispered. Her voice was small and full of fear. “I’m going to trip. Or worse… Liam is going to realize he’s too good for me and run away.”
I walked over and put my hands on her shoulders. I looked at her reflection. She looked beautiful. She wasn’t wearing the heavy, dark makeup she used to wear when she was trying to impress
Astor.
She looked soft. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a loose braid with tiny white flowers tucked into it. She looked like a woman who had finally found herself.
A woman at peace.
“Alice, look at me,” I said gently.
She looked up into my eyes.
“Liam has loved you for years,” I reminded her. “He loved you even when you were being a brat. He loved you even when you were trying to ruin my life. He’s not going to run away now that you’re finally the woman he always knew you could be.”
I don’t think anybody could have done what Liam did and I think it’s one of the things that Alice will have to struggle with for the rest of Her Life because Liam’s sacrifice will always be the biggest reason for her regret and guilt.
Alice let out a shaky breath. She turned around and grabbed my hands. Her palms were sweaty.
“I destroyed your life, Faith,” she said. Tears started to fill her eyes.
“I know,” I said. I didn’t lie to her. We both knew the truth.
“I look at Isabella and I can’t help but feel and sometimes it just makes it so hard to breathe because how could I have kept your baby away from you for 6 years. How can you even stand to
be in the same room as me?”

I pulled her up from her chair and wrapped her in a tight hug. I felt her heart beating fast against my chest.
“Because you’re my sister,” I whispered. “And because I saw you change. I saw the moment you loved my daughter with everything you despite the fact that you knew she wasn’t yours. The moment you stopped looking at my husband with wandering eyes. Forgiveness isn’t about forgetting the past, Alice. It’s about choosing a better future. And I choose you.”
Alice sobbed into my shoulder for a minute. It was a good cry. It was the kind of cry that washes away the old dirt so something new can grow.
I don’t think there’s anything I can possibly ever say that will make her feel better and everybody has to face the consequences of their actions but at least she knows that I’ve forgiven even though I haven’t forgotten.
When she pulled away, she wiped her eyes and gave me a real smile. “Thank you, Faith. I don’t deserve you, but I’m going to spend the rest of my life trying to be the sister you deserve.” “You already are,” I said. “Now, let’s get you into that dress. We have a warrior waiting for us. The ceremony was held at the pack hall and the whole pack was there. In the front stood Liam. I have never seen Liam look so intense. He was wearing a tight fitting suit He looked like a man made of iron and stone. But when the music started and he saw Alice walking toward him, his face completely changed. His eyes went soft, and for a second, I saw his lips tremble.
I will forever be that one person who understands him the most because I know how it feels to love somebody with everything in you only for them not to notice you.
The past stays in the past but that kind of pain you carry with you for a lifetime.
Astor stood next to Liam as his Best Man. He looked at me as I walked Alice down the aisle. He gave me a tiny wink, and I felt that familiar heat in my chest. We were both so proud of our friends.
When Alice reached Liam, she took his hands. They stood so close that their foreheads were almost touching.
I “Alice,” Liam said. His voice was deep and gritty. It was full of the raw emotion of a man who had waited a lifetime for this moment. “I have known you were my mate since the day I first saw you. watched you get lost in the dark, and I stayed in the shadows, waiting for you to find the light. I never gave up on you. And I never will.”
Alice was crying openly now. “Liam, I was blind. I searched for a crown when I already had a king. I promise to be your partner, your shield, and your heart. I promise to love you with everything I am, and to never let the darkness come between us again.”

Chapter 200
In our world, the mating ceremony isn’t just about pretty words. It’s about the bond, Liam leaned in and bared his teeth. He bit into the side of Alice’s neck, right where her scent gland was. It was a hard, marking bite. Alice didn’t flinch. She grabbed his shoulders and let out a soft moan and then,
she did the same to him.
The bond snapped into place, loud and clear. Everyone in the pack felt it. It was the feeling of two souls finally becoming one.
The pack let out a roar. Warriors banged their spears against the ground. The sound was like
thunder.
The celebration that followed was wild and happy. There was roasted meats, sweet honey wines, and music that made your feet want to dance.
I sat at the main table, watching Alice and Liam. They were in their own world. They were eating from the same plate and whispering to each other. They looked… right. They looked like they fit together perfectly.
Marco and Isabella were running around with the other pack children. Marco was wearing a tiny wooden sword, and Isabella was showing the other girls how to make her hair glow a little bit. They were so happy.
Astor sat down next to me and put his arm around me. He handed me a cup of wine.
“You did it, Faith,” he said.
“What did I do?” I asked, leaning into him.
“Look at them,” he said, gesturing to the whole meadow. “Look at Alice. Six years ago, she was a disaster. Now, she’s a mated woman and a leader. You gave her a chance to grow up, to change and heal.”
“I will never forget the things that she did but I’ve forgiven her and I wish her the best.”
