“Gulliver!” she scolded him as he threw his head back and laughed. “You’re trying to make me run off to bed.”
“No. I’m trying to get you to open up. Talk to me. We talk about Kaylee, work, and business but not about us and intimacy.”
“It’s our first date. It’s inappropriate.”
“Sure,” he reached his hand out to grab his glass of wine and took a swallow.
A droplet of wine landed on his lower lip and when his tongue darted out to lick it, January’s own tongue flicked to her lip as if wanting to catch the droplet herself. She looked away and tried to focus on relaxing as he massaged her foot but the words he spoke and the innuendo about the kind of movie he wanted to watch were making her tense. She wanted him so bad it was causing a throbbing ache.
“Relax,” he spoke softly. “I’m teasing you January because you are fun to tease. Your cheeks are a pretty shade of pink right now. Get the remote out and see if you can find a comedy or
action movie.”
She started to reach into the drawer and then she spoke in a hushed tone. “Using my toy on me.”

“I’ve never considered one built for two. I’m not complaining and saying our bedroom life was dull or anything because it was anything but, however,” she was feeling brave as she took a sip of her own wine glass, “I always felt you were more playful than you let on, and I wanted to play too.”
“I wanted to make you feel good. What is your current favorite device?”
She felt her cheeks burning as he switched to her other foot, adding more oil to his palms.
“This is such a weird conversation.”
“It’s not!” he argued.
“Sure, it’s not.” She made wide eyes as she adjusted her free foot on his lap, “and that’s a strange growth happening on your leg right now.” She mocked him sarcastically, “you’re getting off on this.”
“I’m getting hard, not off.” He corrected, “if I was getting off, it wouldn’t be a foot in my hand.”
She giggled at his words, “this is escalating rather quickly. We are being very bawdy.”

I need to put all my emotions in a box up here,” he tapped his temple, “and I am hyper focused on my task. I don’t think of anything other than what needs to be done. My language is foul.”

She giggled at the comparison. “What else?”

Rather,” she felt him tensing in more ways than one, “how you can make me feel. I don’t want to watch a movie. I don’t want to go to bed alone.”
