“We will tell her what I said. You are her biological father who recently discovered her and wanted to get to know her better. We will be as accommodating as possible without disrupting her life. She has friends here and is thriving in school,” she exaggerated a bit considering her kid wasn’t at the top of the class in terms of grades, but she probably knew every single kid in her school by name and was liked by the bulk of them.
“Fine.” His eyes had a wicked gleam, “we can do that but I’m buying a house in this town and if I can’t find one for sale, I’ll build it. I want security taking her to and from school.”
“She takes the bus. The security can follow the bus to the -school.”
“Okay. I want overnights.”

“Overnights. I’m getting a house in town. You can inspect it. I’ll set her up with her own bedroom. She can spend weekends with me at my place.”
“Not every weekend.”

“You’re going to live here in this town throughout the week?” she was incredulous. “You run a huge company in New York. You can’t relocate to Vermont!”
“Says who? I can live wherever I want. As you said, I’m rich. I also have a helicopter. I saw a chunk of land for sale not far from the town border. It would be great to build a house and put in a landing pad. I could fly back -and forth in just over an hour. Easy peasy. I could, if I
