“The guy who owns the diner always gives me extra mozzarella sticks. He can cook.” Kaylee shrugged. She shot another look in the direction of the table where the two cops were. 

“Do they scare you, Kaylee?” January asked quietly. “Are you afraid of them?” 

Kaylee shrugged and pushed her hair off her forehead, “no.”

“No, baby girl, you are not. Remember when your dad said a few minutes ago that he is very rich and sometimes people try to do things to take him? Well, to keep him safe they are armed. He has a special permit to carry his weapon.” 

“So, I’m not in trouble and I won’t go to jail?” she twisted her lips worriedly. 

“My sweet darling daughter,” Gulliver leaned down and put his head right in front of her face and cupped her cheeks, “there is nothing in this world you could ever do which would land you in jail. Nothing.” 

“What if broke the law?” 

“I have all kinds of great lawyers.” 

“What if I robbed a bank?”
