Me Too Part I
January sighed contentedly as she snuggled into the warmth under her cheek, feeling cozy and warm while she slowly came out of her sleep.
Then she froze.
The warm pillow under her cheek was rising and falling and was far firmer than the pillow she’d fallen asleep on. Her eyes sprung open and she realized with horror, the barrier of Kaylee was no longer between her and Gulliver, and she wasn’t just cuddled up with him. She was almost using him as a mattress. Her arm was wrapped around his abdomen. Her leg was flung over his and twisted under the calf of his far leg. Her head was completely on his chest, and his arms were wrapped entirely around her, and she was squished against him.
“Morning,” his husky voice was warm and floated over her head.
“Where’s Kaylee?”
“She and Mitsos heard Glenn coming in with breakfast about an hour ago. The minute she moved, you scooted right over.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I’m not. Last night was the best night ever. This morning is the best morning ever.”
“Gulliver,” she whispered as he squeezed her to his chest.

“Don’t leave yet, January. Let me pretend a little while longer.”
The quiet plea made her exhale softly and then she nodded once, her cheek rubbing against his skin. He kissed the top of her head and rubbed her back softly, slow circles as he cuddled her to him. Then the sound of a sniff made her tilt her head to look at him and was stunned to see his eyes watery and his cheeks reddened.
“Are you okay?”
“I hate the idea of getting out of this bed and going back to how we were. I don’t want to pressure you, and I know you don’t feel the same but —”
She wasn’t sure what took over her, but she cut him off by putting her hands on his cheeks and stretching her neck to kiss him softly. He froze under her as she leaned up into him and kissed the lips she missed for the last eight years.
She pulled away and looked into his startled eyes and smiled, “good morning, Gulliver.”
“Good morning.” His breathing was labored as he stared at her, as if worried she was going to disappear.
“Thank you. Thank you for yesterday and giving me a safe place to come to. Thank you for showing me how much love you have for our daughter by indulging her whims. Thank you for not pushing me to do more than I’m ready for. Thank you for the space. Thank you for the reassurances. Thank you for letting me

“January,” he breathed her name in a raspy whisper. “Do not give me false hope here. I mean I like the kiss but I’m dying here.”
“You were right.”
“I was?”
She could see the confusion.
“I was going to let you kiss me last night and I would have kissed you back. It’s too bad the kids interrupted us, but I think I needed the space of the night to really put my head back on straight.”
“January.”
“Gulliver,” she put a finger to his lips, “if you ever do anything to hurt me like you did eight years ago, there will not be a third
chance.”
“Baby,” he gave a tilt of his head as the watery eyes he was sporting blinked rapidly as if trying to stop the tear that was edging the corner before it rolled over his cheek onto the pillow. “I need you to be blunt for the denser people in the room.”
She grinned suddenly feeling mischievous, “I’m thinking you could join the dating queue.”
At her words he gave a bark of laughter and rolled her onto her 3/6

back and tickled her sides. “Is that so?”
“Yeah but maybe the queue is really short.”
“How short?”
“Just one person in it.”
“What about Ernst?”

“He is a really great friend, and he’s very attractive but even after hanging out with him most of the afternoon yesterday, I felt absolutely no desire to kiss him. None.” She couldn’t look away from the happy smile on his face as he leaned over her, his elbows now on either side of her face. “However, I value the new friendship I’m catering with him and I think he feels the same.”
“Fuck!” he looked to the ceiling before making the sign of the cross over his chest and commenting loudly, “thank you God.”
“This is your second chance, Gulliver Crane Raptis,” she used the last name she’d not known when she was married to him. “Do not make me regret it.”
“I am going to make you the happiest woman on the planet.”
“We’re dating first, Gulliver. You can take me on dates. Don’t blow it.”
“Speaking of blowing,” he grinned at her and she pushed his chest, “is too early to question when we can get naked?”

“Yes, Gulliver. It is too early.”

“But see,” he wriggled over her brushing her hair off her forehead, “this morning Kaylee climbed out of our bed, and you did this cute little thing of whispering my name and sliding right into her spot and then you climbed pretty much on top of me. You were doing this little wriggling thing, and I was desperately trying to think of appalling and revolting things which would make my dick soft and just when I would succeed you would snuggle in closer and you felt so good.”
“Gulliver,” she pursed her lips at his blatant flirting. “You are being very naughty.”
“I am because you gave me a green light and baby I’m getting the chance to drive a Porsche again and I’m itching to get back
behind the wheel.”
“Are you referring to me as a car?”
“A very sexy car.”
She giggled in spite of herself and his bad comparisons. “Awful, Gulliver. You can give me kisses and hold my hand but no sex yet.”
“What about blow jobs?”
“Gulliver!” she squealed as he kissed her nose. “Be good. The kids are in the next room.”
