All day long, every employee at the Wilder Group could feel the pressure brought by the CEO.
Even during meetings, no one dared to speak.
Shannon and Maggie stood by Jessica’s side, always watching their soon–to–be–angry boss.
After four continuous hours of meetings ended, the final result did not satisfy Jessica.
She left the conference room with a cold face, and everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“Is it all because of Sophie?” Eric asked curiously.
Eric had joined the company recently but had heard that Jessica had a younger sister who was studying abroad. He hadn’t expected her to be connected to Aitairy, and even less that so many people would be involved because of this matter.
Shannon made a “shush” sound and looked toward the door.
Only after confirming that Jessica had already left did she quietly say, “Don’t letMs. Wilder hear this. Miss Sophie’s movements abroad have always been handled by the secretarial department. But in the last two months, Miss Sophie has refused all contact from us. There’s nothing we can do.”
“You’d better hurry back to the office.” Maggie took the documents from Shannon’s hand and pointed toward the door.
“She’s probably waiting for you. The quote from the Montvue Tower project team just now was wrong too. No wonder Ms. Wilder kept a cold face.”
Anthony had brought the project team to the Wilder Group for a meeting.
Because of the landslide near Montvue Tower, they couldn’t work there anymore, so the Wilder Group arranged for them to stay in one of their hotels and worked in the conference rooms, with all their benefits upgraded. Shannon shrugged helplessly. “You all say being a secretary is easy. How about you guys go comfort the boss?” Eric quickly raised his hand, making it clear he couldn’t do that kind of thing. Ordinary bosses were one thing, but Jessica was no ordinary person.
At such a young age, she could stand at the top of the business world, and few leaders like her existed worldwide.
As soon as they approached the office, they heard something break inside.
Shannon held the doorknob with one hand, lowered her head, took several deep breaths, then steadied herself and pushed the door open.
The sight that met their eyes was complete chaos on the floor.

Shannon’s expression remained unchanged.
She walked around a pile of broken pieces and went to the desk.
She crossed her hands in front of her body and lowered her eyes, not daring to look Jessica.
Usually, Jessica’s temper was fairly good, she rarely lost her temper over work.
But now she sat motionlessly.
Though a slender woman, she still gave off an aura of authority without anger.
Even the faint fragrance in the room couldn’t suppress her fierce aura.
“Ms. Wilder, it was my negligence in work. I didn’t keep an eye on Miss Sophie.”
Pinning the blame on someone else was useless.
Shannon had worked for Jessica for many years and was used to solving problems directly and efficiently.
“It’s your responsibility.”
Jessica tapped lightly on the desk with one hand, then after a long pause, she lifted her head.
“Why didn’t you tell me you couldn’t contact Sophie?”
Shannon opened her mouth but said weakly, “I told you once before the New Year. You thought Miss Sophie was just angry. You even called her during the New Year. I didn’t expect…‘

Seeing Jessica’s expression growing darker, she changed what she was saying. “It was my fault for letting Michael have too much contact with Miss Sophie.”
Since learning about this matter, several people who knew Sophie well had called Jessica.
Aitairy was clearly a competitor to most domestic companies, and even though their headquarters hadn’t moved back to the country, people were still worried.
The Wilder Group relied on by many domestic companies..
If the Wilder Group favored Aitairy, it would catch many of them off guard.
That was why all these people wanted to ask Jessica the reason.
