Chapter 302
“Lonat–come to think of it, I actually had a destined connection with Lonat too.”
The two of them were packing luggage at home.
In truth, only Chris was packing, while Jessica sat cross–legged on the sofa with a face mask on, watching Chris move in and out of the room.
Jessica lifted her eyes from the news and glanced at Chris.
Only then did she remember–the hospital had originally arranged for Chris to go to Lonat for advanced training.
For a doctor, having the chance to study abroad was an opportunity no one would pass up.
But she had stopped Chris again and again, unwilling to let him leave.
It had been willful of her, but at that time their relationship was fragile, and she could not bear the risk of losing Chris.
She was even less willing to let him leave with regret–and a divorce certificate.
Putting down her phone, Jessica thought seriously.
Now their relationship was unbreakable, with no secrets or weaknesses between them.
On top of that, given Chris’s position at the Summit Infirmary, he was actually very well suited to go to Lonat for further training.
It was only that choosing a supervisor might be troublesome, and he might need a recommendation.
With her face mask still on, Jessica mumbled, “If you still want to go for further study, I can find someone to write you a recommendation letter. It won’t be any less credible than one from your professor.”
Chris walked out holding Jessica’s dress and looked her over.
Jessica avoided his gaze, feeling a little guilty.
In Chris’s eyes, that look was utterly endearing.
He leaned over with the clothes in his arms and kissed her.
“We’ll talk about it later when we get the chance.”
With so many troubles at home, he had no way of leaving without being worried.
At the very least, he would have to wait until the Summit Infirmary was fully listed, or until matters with the Hall family were settled, before he could go.
Speaking of the Hall family—
After Luke was brought back, Thomas hadn’t gone to see him at all.

Chapter 302
Only Lynsey had visited once, and she brought nothing but a few skincare products.
Jessica had no idea what had happened over there, so she decided to call Jaden to ask.
She knew that the ones currently most concerned about the Hall family were Roy and Jaden.
Roy was always busy, and she didn’t want to disturb him with a call.

So she chose to call Jaden and Collin instead, who were still on Yelia’s time despite having been back for so long.
The later it got, the more awake they seemed.
“I heard from Jack that after Lynsey went over, she just left the skincare products and told Luke to focus on recovery, saying he didn’t need to worry about the company.”
Flipping through a book in the original language, Jaden sneered as he spoke.
“Isn’t that just another way of stripping Luke of power? I heard Mrs. Zorro was very displeased at the time.”
“Luke’s parents had counted on him replacing Michael, but now that Michael doesn’t even care about the Hall family, Luke has lost their expectations too.”
“And with Marcy’s accusations against him, not only is the Hall family fortune out of reach, they also have a son branded a murderer. Tsk tsk, the Hall family is a complete mess.”
Jaden’s hand paused. “If my father were still alive and saw the Hall family like this…”
Jessica didn’t know much about Sir Hall, but her mother had said that he was a very respectable man, almost invincible in the business world.
“The only perfect heir of Sir Hall’s legacy in the Hall family is you. But you can’t go back just yet. You need to hurry and return before they completely squander the Hall family.”
Jessica peeled off her face mask and rubbed her cheek.
Jaden’s voice was calm, no longer as relaxed as before.
“There’s no rush.”
It was best to wait until all of the Hall family’s filth floated to the surface.
To treat a festering wound, one had to wait until it was fully rotten.
Only then could the dead flesh be cut away and healing be quick.
He could afford to wait.
“You two need to be careful since you’re going to Lonat,” Collin said on the other end of the line.
