Chapter 308
Perhaps she hadn’t expected Lando to ask about Blake.
Shannon couldn’t reveal too much about Blake’s schedule, so she only nodded and said, “But we’re all staying at the same hotel. They have another car. You should get in first.”
There was no other choice, so Lando had to get into the car.
Shannon then turned and said something to Jessica, before leading the group of kids to follow the bus to the hotel.
Only after everyone had left did Blake finally let go of his suitcase and breathe a sigh of relief.
Indya was truly not very sensitive when it came to feelings.
Perhaps she couldn’t even sense that Lando was different from the other team members, that he harbored thoughts about her.
It was precisely because of this that Blake worried.
“Don’t you think…” Blake began, but when he saw Indya look over, he swallowed the rest of his words.
“You’re my manager this time. Don’t always focus on others—you need to stay with me.”
Indya replied helplessly, “Aren’t I staying with you?”
They too split into two cars and left the airport.
The hotel they had booked was in an excellent location, right in the heart of a bustling area.
When Chris arrived in this country–a country that was closely tied to him, yet for various reasons he had never managed to set foot in–he felt countless emotions welling up.
In fact, he himself hadn’t expected that his first trip to Lonat wouldn’t be to study, nor to heal from heartbreak after a breakup, but instead to come here with Jessica.
Everything in the suite had already been prepared, even their luggage had been delivered in advance.
“Dinner will be sent to the rooms, no need to go out. Tomorrow morning, Shannon will take the team to get familiar with the venue. Are you two going to find Sophie tomorrow?” Indya asked after settling Blake, coming over to them.
“No,” Jessica shook her head. “Since we’re already here, there’s no rush. Tomorrow Chris and I will take Natalie to the school. We need to take care of the real purpose of this trip first.”
They were using Natalie’s schooling as the reason for the trip, so they couldn’t neglect it.
Besides, they also had to find another person.
Indya sat on the sofa, already changed into slippers, her feet sinking into the soft carpet.
Her whole body finally felt relaxed.

She hadn’t been able to rest properly on the plane, and her body had been tense the whole time.
She said, “These long flights are always terrible for the skin. Blake’s award ceremony is still two days away. Tomorrow I’ll take him around nearby–it was his own suggestion.”
Chris came out of the room.
“Blake is pursuing you. Can’t you be a little more aware of that?”
He suddenly felt like he was an older brother, frustrated with Indya as if she were a sister who couldn’t see what was in front of her.
His own sister had never experienced what it felt like to be pursued either.
Indya lay sideways and said, “I know, I’m aware. Didn’t I already turn him down?”
“That wasn’t really turning him down. Blake said you wanted let things happen naturally,” Jessica corrected her wording Anyway, Blake is a good person. Since he doesn’t like anyone else, why not give it a try?”
Indya lay there in silence for a long while before speaking.
“I just feel that being with someone like Blake will definitely draw attention in the future. I work in public relations–I know how brutal online attacks can be. Especially for someone like Blake…”
“If you like someone, you don’t need to worry so much. I know how strong you are. You don’t actually care about that kind of thing,” said Jessica.
It was clearly just an excuse from Indya.
Indya glanced at Jessica.
“If you already know it’s just my excuse, then stop saying so much. Let’s talk about it later. I’ll think about it. This time, Sam didn’t even go on a real business trip–he just wanted to push me closer to Blake.”
Everyone was creating space for them.
But the more it happened, the more pressured Indya felt.
Instinctively, she wanted to put some distance between herself and Blake, not get too close.
