I slowly start waking up and groan as I stretch out my aching muscles. Last night’s activities with Nicky have left me feeling like I’ve run a weekend–long marathon but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Finally mating with him was the most amazing experience of my life. 

I know that he’s said that he wants me but saying it and showing it are two completely different things so having him want his mark 

on me for the whole world to see means more than words can say. 

I look over to his side of the bed to find him gone and sadness instantly washes over me. I thought that he would be here the morning after we mated, I thought that we would have stayed in bed a little while but I guess not. 

I understand he has responsibilities and while I’m proud of the Alpha that he is it doesn’t mean that there won’t be times that I want 

him with me but he can’t be, just like right now I guess. 

I stretch one final time before getting out of bed. As much as I love the memories from last night, the sticky feeling that I have 

between my legs is uncomfortable and I need to shower. 

“Good morning, darling,” I jump up from the bed just about managing to hold back a squeal of surprise when I realise that Nicky is standing by the bathroom door. He runs his eyes over the entire length of my body before giving me his sexy smirk. 

Shit I’m naked! My first instinct is to hide my body from him but with Lexi’s help, I stop myself. He’s made it more than clear that he likes my body and while a huge part of me still feels shy and wants nothing more than to hide every inch of me, a bigger part of me wants to find some confidence and this seems as good as time as any to get started. 

“So fucking beautiful!” he growls as he starts walking towards me. He’s got a towel wrapped around his waist and his body is wet and it’s a sight that has me weak at the knees. “I’m sorry I wasn’t in bed with you, baby, I was hoping to be done with the shower before you 

woke.” 

Before I can say anything he’s in front of me dipping his head and kissing me so sweetly that it makes my toes curl. He pulls back way too soon for my liking but I somehow manage to hold in my whine of protest. “Good morning, beautiful. My smile is beaming at his simple words but I can’t help it. “Good morning.” 

As much as I want to stand here eyeing up my mate the feeling between my legs is too much. “I need to shower. I feel my cheeks getting red but I try to pretend otherwise. He studies me for a second before that sexy ass grin of his appears on his face. And why’s that mate?” He already knows why and just wants me to say it. 

I lean up placing a gentle kiss on his cheek before walking around him and heading for the bathroom making sure to give my ass a little more wiggle while I walk. I’m not sure where this burst of confidence has come from but I like it. 

I stop once I reach the door and turn around to find Nicky’s gaze firmly on my body. A small laugh slips past my lips as I head into the bathroom only I don’t make it to the shower as I’m suddenly pulled back into strong arms as my mate growls in my ear.

“Are you trying to play games with me, mate?” I turn around in his arms putting on my best innocent act while his eyes blaze with heat and want. “Me, no, I add in a little blink pulling off the innocent act with perfection. “No, you’re right. You’re not playing games 

with me. Surely he didn’t buy the act. “You’re playing with fire, that’s what you’re doing.” Of course, he didn’t believe it.
