Alpha NicholasÂ
I had my phone call taken care of and was changed and I had eaten within 30 minutes of myÂ
brothers leaving my office. As far as I’m concerned the sooner we leave the better and if everyoneÂ
else is ready before the time I set then we can get out of here even quicker. The moment I stepÂ
outside with Bonnie at my side im instantly filled with pride. There must be over 300 members ofÂ
my pack out here and ready to go.Â
“It’s a good turnout,” Shane says as he comes to stand beside me with Lilly on his arm. While I want as many members as possible to fight, I have also made it very clear that it’s not mandatory and there won’t be any hard feelings towards those who decide not to come. However, looking around at everyone who is here now, I know that pretty much every Warrior is here and ready toÂ
head out.Â

“I’ve spoken to Steven and Harry and told them to stay back. Their mates are days away from giving birth. They don’t need to be out there risking themselves when their minds will be on their mates and their mates don’t need the stress of worrying when they are so close to giving birth.” He says as he looks around the groups of men and women.Â
I nod appreciating his forward thinking. “Absolutely.” I agree. I take one more look around the men trying to figure out if anyone is missing who has already confirmed that they are coming when I spot Colt one of my top warriors and head his way. “Hey, Colt. You got a second?” He nods before following me away from the group that he was just with. “Is everything ok, Alpha?”Â
“Colt, while I appreciate you turning up here today and being willing to risk your life for those little boys, it’s not something that I can ask of you and neither would Tony or Rose if they knew thatÂ
you were here.”Â
“I appreciate that, Alpha but it’s my job and I’m honoured to be a part of this search.”Â
“I know, Colt but I would prefer you stay back. Your mate gave birth just two days ago. You have a two–day–old baby boy who needs his dad around. Plus, if you stay here I was hoping that you would help my dad with covering guard duty. You’re still doing your job but just in a safer manner.” don’t miss the clear relief in his eyes. There was no He looks disappointed for a moment but I al way he wanted to leave his mate and son yet, but as always he was loyal to a fault and was stillÂ

willing to do this and I couldn’t be any more proud of him.Â
“Of course, I can do that, Alpha.”Â
“Thank you. My dad’s in my office. Why don’t you go on up and see him? I’ve already informed him that I’ll be asking you to stay back and help him.” He nods once again, thanking me and heading inside. Of course, my dad wanted to come today but he’s not as young as he used to be, not that he will admit that besides, I needed someone to take care of the pack while I’m gone and while it may be a Beta’s job to cover things when I can’t, there’s no way on earth was I going to be able to keepÂ
Shane back today, no way!Â
“That was the right thing to do. I was debating about talking to him myself earlier,” Shane says as we approach him at the top of the front steps. I nod agreeing as I take one final look around. “Are we ready to leave?” There are still fifteen minutes left until the scheduled time but I haven’t seen anyone else turn up so there’s a chance that we will get out of here early.Â
