It’s just after 6 pm and still fairly early but after the day that we’ve had, I’ve given everyone the night off. The new arrivals have had a rough fucking day and I think some time alone together will be good for them. I don’t want them to feel ganged up on the moment they arrive so instead, Bonnie had make–shift beds set up in the ballroom and some of my she–wolves are currently cooking them a feast and directing those who wish to shower to our guest bathroom on the main floor. 

We also have several She–wolves staying in the room with them to help with the children. 50 children to 20 women is a lot to handle never mind the fact that they are pregnant. And while I want to be mindful of their needs I still have to think of my pack and make sure my members are safe so despite the hospitality that I’m happy to show them I’ve also got several warriors outside of the room while some of the females that are inside helping are also warriors and are on full alert. While I’d like to think that they are all as innocent as they seem, I’ve learned in life to always be cautious and on guard. 

They could all be completely innocent but there could also be plans in the works and as much as I’m more than happy to help them in any way that I can I also won’t hesitate to put anyone who poses a threat down and my warriors on guard feel the same. I pray it doesn’t come to that but I have a pack full of women and children to protect and protect them I will. 

Aside from our guests needing some time to settle in I have a feeling that most of my warriors that were there today also need some time to themselves. More so the ones that saw the children. A lot of them have pups themselves and I know that it hit them hard hell, it hit me hard but even the ones without pups were affected by that sight and some time to do their own thing will be a great help to them. 

“How are Tony and Rosie doing?” Robbie asks me as he walks alongside me as I make my way to the Alpha floor. My floor is at the very top. Shane as my Beta has the second floor down and then Will as my Gamma has the third floor down. Of course, as Robbie is technically a warrior he wouldn’t usually have a floor In the pack house but as he’s my brother he does. He shares the Gamma floor with Will but with Will having now found his mare, I’m not sure how things will work with them.

“As good as can be expected. You know what those two are like. They put on brave faces for the world to see when underneath I can only imagine that they are falling apart.” He nods agreeing looking as sad as I feel when I think about what my best friend and his Mate must be going through right now. “I can’t even imagine it, don’t want to.” 

“Yeah me too.” I agree. While I have Lottie and can use her strength to help me through this, they don’t have any other children and while I know the boys ain’t really Tony’s and that he hasn’t even met them yet, he’s still feeling this. Granted he isn’t feeling it like Rosie is but he’s completely invested in this and already feels strongly for those little boys and by fuck will we find them. 

“You ready to talk yet?” I ask Robbie as we start to take the stairs. He still hasn’t said a word to me so while there’s no one around I decide to try and see if he is ready to open up to me yet. He stares at me before slowly shaking his head and running his hand over the back of his neck. “I’m still trying to figure things out myself right now. I don’t…I can’t… I… I‘ 

“It’s ok. Don’t worry, brother. We will talk when you are ready.” As much as I want to know what’s going on I’m not going to force him to talk but maybe… “I’m going to ask you one question and I would very much appreciate an answer. We don’t have to talk about it, a simple yes or no will do but I just want to know if I’m on the right level or if I’ve gone completely off the track here.” He remains quiet but nods for me to continue.
