Alpha Nicholas’s Little MaterÂ
Chapter 189Â
Warrior RobbieÂ
14%2Â
Within twenty minutes we have six groups all huddled into different areas of the room as we get ready to talk to them. Considering how many children are currently in this room I thought it would have taken us much longer to get them organised but they were incredibly well behaved which I’m grateful for.Â
“Now, while I understand that you would like to be the one to talk to your mate, I also understand if you’ve changed your mind and would prefer for someone else to do it. There’s no judgment from any of us if you worry that you can’t handle it.”Â
Once again Nick’s concern is appreciated but if anyone’s going to be speaking to my Mate it’s me. “I’m good. I’ve got this,” I grunt. He gives me a nod as he starts telling everyone what group they are to take while I walk to the one at the far end when my mate is sitting at the back of the row looking a little lost and a little scared. Fcuk, I wish that I could help calm her down but until she is of age she won’t feel any part of our bond and I won’t be able to bringÂ
her any comfort either.Â
Once everyone is in place we all begin the long task of getting everyone’s details. Instead of going the old–school way of writing all the information down with a pen, Nick decided that we could make it work better if we all used spreadsheets on our iPads which I agree with. I can’t tell you how many times information has been lost after it has been written down. This saves any mishaps and can be backed up with the click of a button. We’re also going toÂ
record the conversations as an extra precaution.Â
I take a seat at the table where the first girl is ready to answer my questions. There aren’t many questions to ask and most are the bare basics, name, age, where they came from and are their parents here. Some are a little harder but no one will be forced to answer anything and we are hoping that any questions the younger children can’t answer that the older women will be able to help us out with.Â
I can honestly say that sitting at this table as I work my way through the children that lead me to my mate is one of the hardest things I think I’ve ever had to do. Knowing that she is so close, knowing that I’m soon going to be talking to her, knowing that I’m going to find out information about her when she has absolutely no idea of who I am is a hard pill to swallow but I won’t have anyone else do it.Â
So far I’ve spoken with five of the children and every single one of them has been very open and honest with me. The innocence of childhood is something I sometimes find myself jealous of. So pure and innocent. And I find myself extremely grateful that so far none of the children that I have spoken to seem to have suffered any ill–treatment.Â
But of course, that doesn’t last long and the moment that I look at child number six I feel my heartbeat pick up and anger surge through my body. “What’s your name, sweetheart?” She looks up at me with big brown eyes while waves of long thick brown hair fall all around her and even though she has showered since arriving here, she looks skinny and unkept.Â
“Tia.” Her voice is so small and insanely cute despite the sadness I can feel coming off of her. “What’s your name?” She suddenly asks me throwing me off course. I give her a small smile as I lean down until I’m a little closer to her. My name is, Robbie.” She smiles as I answer her and her little cheeks lightÂ
- up.Â
“Tia, can you tell me how old you are, please?” She remains quiet before suddenly lifting three fingers into the air. “This many,” She answers as she scrunches up her little nose and melts my heart. She’s only small so I decided to just ask her the basics and find out the rest of the information that I needÂ
from someone else.Â
ok, sweet girl. Last question. Do you know where your mommy or daddy are She shakes her head and I find myself amazed at how unaffected she seems. “Mommy put me in the hole in the gowned and wen a find daddy.” So her parents are either dead or have done a runner. For the love of goddess, I hope it’s the first option because no child should grow up knowing their parents abandoned them in a time when they needed them more than anything.Â
I talk to her for a few more minutes before letting her go back to playing and I swiftly make my way through the group. The ages of this group range from 3 to older teenagers and every one of them holds a sad reality, and before I know it, I’m down to the last person in my group that I need to talk to…Â
my mate.Â
She moves from her chair to come and sit closer to me and I swear that the moment that her scent hits me I’m insanely grateful that I’m sitting down because I feel like my knees just give out. And if that wasn’t bad enough my heart is racing and my hands are sweating and I swear it feels like it’s the firstÂ

time that I’m seeing her all over again. It’s only when her nose scrunches up into the cutest scroll and her eyes hold questions that I realize that I have been silently staring at her for way too long. Shit!Â
Ok, Sweetheart. What’s your name?” She gives me a small smile and I’m grateful she s let my dockish behaviour slide, “My name is Aria.” Aria… theÂ
name suits her, it’s beautiful just like her. ‘It’s nice to meet you, Aria. My name Robbie and I’m a warrior here. she nods her head while still keeping that smile on her face while I prepare myself for my next question. The most important one. “How old are you, Aria.”Â
“Im 17. Fuck, that’s better than what I’ve been imagining. She’s so small, so petite that I was convinced that she was much younger. Before I can ask her when her birthday is we are disturbed by a ruckus that’s coming from outside the door to the ballroom just before the door flies open and a guy around my age comes storming in sweating and swearing to no end.Â
“What the hell going on!” Nick bellows while all of my brothers and I get ready to have his back. “I’m here for my mate. I want her and I want her now!” The guy screams as he slowly goes a dark shade of red. He needs to calm his ass down before he passes out.Â
“Who’s your mate?” Nick asks in a more calmer tone but I don’t miss how his body is still tense and ready to act if it becomes necessary.Â
“She is. Now give her to me.” He turns his attention to the girl he’s talking about and I instantly feel my blood run cold. “Come here, ArÃa. Now!” WhatÂ
the fuck!Â
