When in the ever–loving fuck did life become such a shit show? It feels like one minute everything was as calm as can be and the next bang… my entire world went tumbling inside out and upside down. In the space of two months, my brothers and I have gone from having no mates to all of us finding our mates, and every single mate has come along with a bang of their own. 

Now, don’t mistake my complaining for any kind of resentment towards any of the women because it isn’t like that. The incidents that have happened since they arrived here haven’t been their fault and I know that my brothers and have all been more than happy to help like we us. None of us regret a single one of the women arriving here and what we’ve had to do to keep them safe. 

Hell, after having Lottie, Bonnie is the best thing to ever happen to me but fuck, we can’t catch a break. It’s one thing after another and it’s fucking draining. My mate has been here for almost six weeks and I still have not had her crowned as my official Luna yet and it’s not because I don’t want her to be, it’s because with everything that has been going on, we haven’t had the time to arrange a ceremony nor as it felt like the right time for a celebration. 

Between still dealing with all the fallout from the cult, including searching for Rosie’s missing babies, I don’t think anyone is in the mood for a celebration, even if it is killing me to not have her officially the Luna of the pack yet. I swear the moment this shit is laid to rest and things are on a more even keel her ass will be crowned so fast that she won’t know what’s hit her.

knocking on my office door brings me out of my head and my heart beats a little faster when I pick up my mate’s scent. “Come in, darling.” The door slowly opens, and then her head peeks inside. Once she sees that I’m alone she steps inside and closes the door behind her. My mate is always respectful when entering my office. No matter how many times I tell her that she’s always welcome in here regardless of who’s in there, she still comes in the same 

way every time. 

“Is there any news?” She asks as she chews her bottom lip. One of her tell–tale signs that she’s worried. I shake my head with a sigh as I wait for her to come to me. As soon as she’s stood in front of me, I pull her down onto my lap so that she’s straddling my lap and bury my face in her neck. Hoping and willing for her scent to calm me down a little because I’m so close to the edge that I’m surprised that I haven’t snapped someone’s neck by now. 

“No, still the same as when I last updated everyone.” As soon as Adrian left my office and headed for the hospital, we immediately swung into action. We already had warriors searching the pack lands and our guards at the borders an alert but we also gathered some groups together and sent them out to certain areas in the hope of finding their asses before they got past the pack border. 

‘I still can’t believe what they did,” She whispers as she lays her head down on my chest. The truth is neither can I. Once we had the groups all set up and Robbie had Aria safely back in the ballroom, my brothers and I headed to the hospital to find out what warriors had been injured. 

Jamie, Nathen and Josh are all doing ok. They have some rough injuries but thanks to werewolf healing they will be fine in a day or so. Scott, however, was the poor soul that didn’t survive. He didn’t stand a chance, they snapped his neck. Once I had checked in on them the reality hit me square in the face and instantly had me so fucking angry.
