Tristan, Shaun, and Alberto were the other three guards who had come to help guard Talon. Tristan, Shaun and Alberto are men who I thought were loyal members of my pack and yet they went and fucking betrayed me. I don’t know why they did it but when I find them they are going to be three very sorry mother fuckers. 

“How are Rachel and Tara doing?” I ask Bonnie while she remains cuddled into me. “Neither of them has said much. I think they’re both still in shock.” 

While Tristian and Alberto were mateless, Shaun had a mate. The moment I told Rachel what he had done, the way she reacted made it more than clear that 

she had no idea about what he was planning on doing. There was no faking her shock and hurt and for that, she will be supported, not blamed for his mess. 

As for Tara… well she was Scotts mate. They also have two pups together, a 3–year–old girl and a 5–year–old son, and she is completely devastated. She has had her mate taken away from her by those evil fucks and they will pay for it. Although I imagine that no amount of karma is going to make Tara feel any less heartbroken. Nor will it make her pups feel any better about losing their dad. 

“We will do all we can to help them, sweetheart.” She nods her head against my chest, but doesn’t say a word and after a new minute of me gently rubbing her back I hear her breathing even out and realize that she’s fallen asleep. She’s barely had any sleep these past few nights because she’s been so worried about other people, so a nap will do her the world of good. And if that nap is going to take place on my lap then so be it. 

I let out a low growl when my office door opens, but stop when I see that it’s Robbie, Will, and Shane. I signal for them to be quiet and point to my mate as she moves herself so that she is lying across my lap and a lot more comfortable. 

“Did you forget to knock? I ask keeping my voice low so as not to disrupt Bonnie. “Sorry, bro. I wasn’t thinking,” Shane whispers pleasing me that he’s respecting Bonny’s nap time. I give him a nod letting it go this time. We all have a lot on our minds right now. “Is she ok?” Robbie asks nodding at Bonnie as he grabs a throw blanket from the corner and places it over my mate. 

“Honestly, I’m not sure. She appears ok, worried but ok, but I honestly couldn’t say. She worries about everyone, puts everyone before herself, and she’s good at hiding her feelings. I can’t figure out her emotions through our bond right now because they are all over the place.” 

‘Give it a little time, and you’ll be able to notice the difference right away,” Shane says, his voice low and soft. ” I know,” I nod my head agreeing. “There’s not been a moment of calm since she arrived so she hasn’t even had a chance to let her feet touch the ground and yet she’s handling it like a trooper. She is one incredible Luna, Nick, and she’s only going to get even better at the role.” Will’s words hit me deep in the heart and while I already know that they are true, it doesn’t stop the pride that I feel well up in my chest at hearing someone else say it. 

‘How are the search parties doing?” It’s been just over an hour since they got away, and so far it’s been radio silent. 

“We checked in with everyone before we came in here but still nothing,” Shane growls. “Any luck in here?” he asks. I shake my head as I take a deep breath feeling defeated and fucking pissed off. “Nope. I have informed Alpha Jameson and Alpha Peter and they have both given me their word that they will keep a lookout and will inform me if they turn up on any of their lands.” 

They are the Alphas that run the two packs closest to ours. They are both a few hours away from us, but it doesn’t mean that they won’t stumble upon their parklands by mistake or even go there seeking protection. “I’ve also informed the Elders and they have asked for regular updates and will head our way 

when it is deemed necessary.” 

I’ve had to inform the Elders of the betrayal of my pack members and also the betrayal of a wolf from another pack. As the camp site was shut down and the Alpha killed any remaining members, fall under the ruling of the Elders, so I basically have to get their approval to kill Talon because he’s technically under their rule. Although, if truth be told, Talon will die regardless of what they say. I try to play by the rules as much as possible but I have been known to cross the line when it’s absolutely nesseccary like it is now. 

Shane goes to speak but then his eyes glaze over as someone mind links him and I find myself anxious to know what’s going on. The moment his eyes refocus im straight on his ass. “Ilease, tell me that we have those mother fuckers I growl. “We don’t have them all, but we do have Alberto.” He growls as he stands up with my brothers following him. “Ryan and Cole are taking him to the cells as we speak.” 

“Excellent!” I growl a little louder than intended. “One is better than none. Lets go and have a chat with him, shall we?” The guys all nod, more than ready to head down, just as Tony comes rushing into the office.

Did you hear about Alberto?” He asks panting a little. I’m guessing he’s run His ass here to tell me. “We did. Would you like to join us in chatting with him?” His eyes light up as he nods his head and I have a feeling that he is more than ready to let off some steam with all that he is going through. 

I give him a nod and turn my attention to my brothers. “Where are the women?* 

“They are all on your floor with mom and a few guards. Dad is on his way down here but wouldn’t leave them unprotected. Robbie smiles as he tells me knowing our mom will want to kick our dad’s ass right now. She may be ageing but she’s still a badass and hates being guarded. She understands but still 

hates it. 

“Great! I’m going to take Bonnie up to the floor and I’ll meet you in the cells. Do not start without me!” I demand. They quickly agree and head out of my office as I head for the stairs to my floor. Once my mate is safe, I’m going to have a nice little chat with Alberto, and for his own safety, I hope he gives me the answers I need or he’s going to be in for a world of pain.
