“With three of them, I waited until they went into labour. When they came to me in pain, I didn’t tell them that they were pregnant. I told them that they had something wrong with them and that I needed to operate, and then I would. “But you wouldn’t be operating on the medical condition that you made up instead, you would perform caesarean sections and steal their pups?” My dad asks. He’s been pretty quiet this whole time, so I let him have this moment; he seems to need it. The doc nods, and I feel my stomach drop. How can he 

be so unfazed by this? 

“But wouldn’t they know that they are pregnant from their bumps?” Will asks as he slowly walks over to us. “I only went after the 

ones without a bump. The ones where the babies were lying on their backs.” 

“You scanned their stomachs, and when you saw that the baby was lying on their back, you picked them for your next victim?” I ask, 

having somewhat of a light bulb moment. He nods, but I don’t give him a chance to say anything as I keep talking. “Harriet, she told me 

that while a baby lying on the mother’s back is somewhat rare, you should have been able to see it in the scan. Turns you could see him, 

couldn’t you, Doc?” 

“That’s right, Alpha.” 

“So when you have been unable to kidnap a woman or blackmail one, or make one think that you are doing them a favour until they realise that they are trapped in your cult of nightmares, you use women who know no different and rear their babies. Fuck, you have it all 

worked out don’t you?” 

‘I’m not a dull man, Alpha. I’ve been doing this for a long time. I know exactly how to work it. I know exactly what to do.” For a split second, he has the most urgent look on his face, that is, until Shane slams a knife coated in silver into his leg and brings him back to reality as he screams out in pain. “I want a list of everyone that you have done it to within this pack, and I want it now.” 

‘I don’t remember the names,” He tries to look genuine, but I don’t believe a single word of his right now or a single look that he tries to sway me with. “Bull shit! You remember every single one of them, and I want the names in the next five minutes!” I growl, slowly losing the last of my patience. Shane walks over to him and grabs hold of the knife that is still in his leg 

‘Do you need some help with remembering those names, doc?” A whimper leaves the doc’s mouth, and I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t a satisfying sound. “I’ve got plenty of silver over here if you do, doc,” Will says from across the room. “No, no, I will remember, I just need a minute.” He may be cooked, but it seems he can make some good choices. 

Just a few minutes later, Shane hands me a folded–up piece of paper, and I tuck it away in my pocket. I will look at it once I’m alone. Those names on the paper… those women… they don’t deserve everyone hearing who they are, especially before they have even been told about what has happened to them. Fuck, how am I going to tell them what this… this nasty ass prick has done to them? 

“Ok, doc, your time is up!” I growl as I take a step closer to him, bringing me almost nose to nose with him. he goes to speak, but before he can, I hear the sound of metal banging against the wall and know that the main door to the cells has been opened. “Robbie, go check who it is.” He nods and heads out of the room and into the guard’s station, where all the camera monitors are. 

I swear, as quickly as he leaves the room, he’s back in here and looking both confused and pissed, sending my senses into overtime. “What is it?” He shakes his head before quickly pulling himself together, only as he goes to speak, the door opens up behind him, and in walks my mate with Warrior Johnathan right behind her, and instantly my senses go into high drive as Storm lets out a small growl in my

“Bonnie, what are you doing here, sweetheart?” She shakes her head as she takes a few steps heading my way and it’s then that I 

notice the tears in her eyes and I’m instantly pissed. 

“We were right, weren’t we?” My head spins to the left when I hear my dad’s voice as, he starts walking towards me. “We were.” Warrior Johnathan says. “What’s going on?” I ask or more demand as I look between my dad and my warrior. “Tell me now! And I swear to the goddess that you had better have a good reason for having my mate here right now!” My dad lets out a sad sigh as he takes a step towards 

me, but he doesn’t say a word, causing me to get even angrier. 

“Someone had better start talking right fucking now!” 

“Nick…Nick!” Bonnie’s panicked voice drags my attention back to her, and the moment I see her hand go to her stomach, I run straight for her. “Baby, what’s wrong?” She looks to the floor before bringing her eyes back up to meet mine. “I… I think my waters have 

just broken.” 

She looks back down at her feet, and I follow her to find a pool of water at her feet. Fuck!
