Chapter 5
Sebastian blinked, startled. He checked Dewayne out, then stared at the boutonniere on his chest.
His eyes narrowed.
He already had a hunch, but he still asked, “What are you doing here?”
Dewayne gave him a lazy, almost mocking glance. “Duh, getting married. Can’t you
Sebastian’s lips quivered. After a long pause, he forced a tight smile.
“Cut it out. No kidding around.”
Dewayne snorted. I moved to his side.
“He’s not joking. This is our wedding day. Please step aside. I don’t wanna be late.”
I tried to push past Sebastian, but he yanked me back.
“No way!
“I’m the one marrying you today, not him. You’re trying to piss me off, right?”
see?”
Even now, he hadn’t come to terms with reality, stubbornly believing I planned the whole thing.
I stared at him, ice-cold. When our eyes met, he finally saw I wasn’t joking or acting out.
Sudden panic hit him.
“Do you know what you’re doing? Marriage isn’t a joke. I said I wouldn’t marry you, but you can’t throw yourself at someone else like this!
“Call it off while you still can.”
Dewayne pulled me into his arms, eyes flashing daggers at Sebastian.
“Call it off? You’re trying to snatch my girl right in front of me? Have you got a death wish or what?”
I patted his arm to cool him down, then glared at Sebastian.
“Enough! I’m not joking about my own wedding. Dewayne is a good guy, and this is my big day. I don’t want drama.
Back off.”
Dewayne smirked and pulled me closer.
Just then, somebody yelled from downstairs that it was time to go.

Chapter 5
We were halfway down when Sebastian rushed up again, grabbing my arm, eyes all red.
“No! You can’t marry him. Aurora, didn’t you want me? Marry me, right now!”
Dewayne stared at the hand on my arm. His eyes went cold, voice suddenly dead serious.
“Want that hand gone?”
Before the words were out, he seized Sebastian’s wrist and snapped it clean.
Sebastian clutched his arm, veins popping out on his forehead, biting back the scream.

One of his buddies hurried over, hooked his arm, and muttered, “Dude, quit it. It’s over. There’s nothing you can do now. Let’s get that hand fixed.”
But he shook his buddy off and lunged at me with his good hand, his voice desperate. “Aurora, don’t marry him.
“You said you wanted me. I’m saying yes now. Please.”
I took a step back.
“That was before. Now I want you to leave me alone, like we never knew each other.”
Sebastian stood there, stunned, eyes locked on me like he couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
While he was still stuck, the guys beside him jumped in and yanked him away.
I had barely stepped outside when his broken cry tore through the air behind me.
“Aurora!!”
